Many years ago, men fought using basic swords, daggers and bows, but in recent years, much of this has changed. Some two-hundred fifty-odd years in the past, a short time before writing was yet to be fully appreciated or used, there existed a man to whom the clansmen and villagers looked up to and knew as "The Great Sage", or more simply: "Rikudou Sennin". This man grew up like any other, but over time, began developing strange new 'magics', which he coined "Ninjutsu," or, Ninja techniques. Due to warfare at the time being separated between the Ninja (Assassin) and Samurai (Noble Warrir), these Ninja techniques began to revolutionize warfare in general. Rikudou's eyes and knowledge in this new jutsu revolutionized ninja combat, and became the key weapon in their arsenal. With the ninja's new acquirement in the art of Ninjutsu the Samurai began to shrink in number. Many were switching over to the Ninja side, but the few, wise men that remained decided to isolate themselves from these ninja. They foresaw great wars over power, and chose not to intervene. For the ninja's new power would eventually become their worst asset.
Meanwhile Rikudou's fame was known throughout the lands. Thousands of ninja would learn techniques from him. This man was truly a wonder. His fame grew even greater once he managed to seal away the Juubi, or Ten-Tailed Demon Beast and used his body as what is today the moon. After all, this was the original purpose of Ninjutsu. Once this sole purpose was removed, the only other use for these powerful techniques would be war. Rikudou was no fool, he foresaw this event much like the Samurai themselves, but instead of taking a step back, he made sure to keep violence between clans people as low as possible.
Over his long life, Rikudou fathered two sons. The eldest gained the Sage's eyes, his powerful chakra and his great spiritual energy; whilst the younger son gained his 'body', his life force, and his physical energy. The two sons were rivals since young ages, with the Elder son having the better advantage of being Rikudou's successor. He believed that power was the key to peace, while the younger believed that love was the key. Due to Rikudou fearing war so greatly; he assigned the younger brother as his successor, this greatly enraging the elder son. The eldest brother eventually formed the Uchiha clan, and the younger eventually became the Senju. Even today these great clans are rivals, yet both residing in Konohagakure.
Nearing the end of his life, Rikudou knew that the Juubi would be released into the wild upon his death. So, in order to keep this beast from terrorizing the globe, he split the demon into nine parts, these nine new beasts becoming what are known today as the Bijuu. What Rikudou didn't expect was that humanity would become much more welcoming to these beasts. With ninjutsu as the power to control them, humanity began sealing the beasts inside hosts, and using these beasts' powers to fight their wars and conquer lands. What Rikudou feared most could not be prevented.
Many years later, when writing was starting to take off, people wrote many stories about Rikudou. Due to lack of records at the time, all that remained of Rikudou were myths and legends about his heroism, and the two sons he had. These two sons only got worse as time progressed. The two formed their own clans, and began initiating full on wars with each other. Over the next two-hundred twenty years, there were thousands of clan wars not only between the brothers, but of rivaling clans as well. Clans began developing Hiden and Kekkei Genkai, which other clans envied and wanted. With these great wars occurring everywhere, peace was nowhere to be found.

Twenty years ago, there was a great war between Senju and Uchiha. The two clans rivaled with other clans, and a great war was established across the world. After this five year war, the leader of Senju and Uchiha decided to partner up and establish the first Ninja Village: Konohagakure no Sato, or
The Village Hidden in the Leaves. With the two clans at peace, the remaining clans were almost forgotten. Five years later, another great war broke out. This one was officially named "The Shinobi World War." It was between a large assortment of clans and the village of Konoha.
Upon the end of this war, a meeting was called upon by the Hokage and other clan members. It was decided that each country were to receive 2 Bijuu, with Konoha retaining just the Kyuubi. This was a great tactic for the Hokage, as now clans were attracted to the great countries in hopes of gaining these Bijuu. The Daimyou of the countries ruled that each of the five great nations were allowed 1 official ninja village, with its own Kage. Over the next few years these villages began to create themselves, and to this day, only the Kumogakure no Sato (Hidden Cloud Village) and Konohagakure no Sato are fully established and in peace with one another.
Even with this peace though, it is unknown how the tides of the world will change. Ninjutsu is still very young, and these villages rather unstable. Will these villages remain in peace, or will there be one all-powerful village? Nothing is set in stone, and only you can decide this History.
